Mission Statement
Hill Country Harm Reduction exists to keep our community safe, supported, and connected in the spaces where we gather to celebrate music and life. We know that festivals and shows are places of joy, creativity, and freedom, and also moments where people can become vulnerable. That’s where we show up.

Our mission is to offer compassionate, peer-to-peer support at music events throughout Central Texas, providing the tools, knowledge, and presence needed to reduce risk and care for one another. From passing out life-saving naloxone and safer use supplies, to offering electrolytes and first aid, to creating sanctuary space for those who are overwhelmed or having a difficult experience—we hold a nonjudgmental space where everyone belongs.

At the heart of our work is a belief that safety and dignity are not privileges, but basic human rights. We trust in people’s ability to make their own choices, and we walk alongside them with resources, education, and care. By weaving harm reduction into the very fabric of our music community, we help create spaces where people can not only survive, but truly thrive together.
Values
Compassion
We meet people where they are, with empathy, kindness, and without judgment. Everyone deserves dignity, no matter their choices or circumstances.

Safety
We prioritize physical, emotional, and psychological safety by providing resources such as naloxone, condoms, safe snorting kits, electrolytes, and sanctuary space for those who need to rest, reset, or receive care.

Community Care
We believe harm reduction is a collective responsibility. By supporting one another, sharing knowledge, and being present for those in need, we strengthen the fabric of our community.

Respect & Autonomy
We honor the right of every individual to make their own choices. Our role is not to dictate, but to provide tools, education, and support that empower informed decision-making.

Accessibility
Our services are free and open to all. We work to remove barriers to care by bringing resources directly to the spaces where people gather, celebrate, and connect.

Integrity
We commit to honesty, transparency, and accountability in everything we do—from the way we show up for people in the moment to the way we represent harm reduction in the wider community.
